Sasha Borodin, an intensely complex and apparently all-too-saintly man, has been lured to New York from Sydney to speak anonymously at a global human rights conference on his work in Southeast Asia combatting traffickers and slavers. Blond, fit and handsome, Sasha looks nowhere near his fifty-nine years. Under dire circumstances, he meets Katya, a much younger, mysterious, resourceful and optimistic Eurasian woman, transforming both their lives.  Was she sent to save him or was their meeting a question of fate?  Sasha’s and Katya’s attempts to come to terms with their pasts and forge a future together are threatened by four relentless, vengeful criminal brothers bent on nothing less than their utter destruction.

A Question of Fate imagines a world already altered for the better by one man’s efforts. A secretive life of invention, humanitarian medical service and music stands on the brink of being extinguished by an all too human urge for recognition.
